This is your big chance for a one mile PR followed immediately by your celebration. That’s right – the Waynesville Main Street Mile is like going to a big street party and having a race break out. It’s a Friday evening and an awesome cause.
From the race organizer:
This year, for $15 ($20-day of race) every runner gets a t-shirt, stocked goodie bag, pizza / snacks, drinks (Highland Brewing for those 21 and older), live music, and we will have kid’s activities at the post-race party too. We have cool pint glasses for the top 3 in each age bracket, hand-made pottery for overall male and female, another hand-made “trophy” for the top team (police, fire rescue). It really is a unique event to promote the sport of running with a great charitable cause and a super post-race party.
Last year nearly 300 participants came out and the organizers were able to give $4,000 to Shriners Hospitals for Children of Greenville. This year’s target is $5,000 so come on out and do your part. This race just about pays for itself with value.
