FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
“The Great SPACE Races,” Spartanburg’s first and only trail race series, will conclude on Saturday, February 24th, at Scotsgrove Farm, a gorgeous 392-acre preserve near Lyman permanently conserved through the Spartanburg Area Conservancy featuring one of the best views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Spartanburg County.
Scotsgrove was established in October 1992 and has grown to nearly 400 acres. Scotsgrove is part working farm and part nature preserve. In 2007 Scotsgrove was placed into a conservation easement with the Spartanburg Area Conservancy (SPACE) to preserve the land for future generations to enjoy.
Scotsgrove features miles of trails surrounding its barn and horse-riding ring where there are cross country jumps, stream crossing and ponds. These trails are being made available to runners for the first and normally are only open to equestrians, and the abundant wildlife such as deer, wild turkey, fox and rabbits.
Come on out to this family-friendly event to support SPACE and enjoy a winter’s morning on one of Spartanburg’s most scenic properties; Pre-registration is $25 and includes cool SPACE running gloves. Race day registration is $30. Discount registration of $15 for runners 18 and under.
Race starts at 9 AM.
